What to do in Dubai:  Top 10 best tourist attractions

Among his grandiose works, with strong tourist appeal, we can highlight the Palm Islands, The World archipelago, the Burj Al Arab hotel and the Burj Khalifa building.

The Palm Islands  are three artificial archipelagos shaped like palm trees. The place is a major tourist spot in the city. Even though it is artificial, only natural materials (sand and stones) were used for the construction of the archipelago.

The  World  is an artificial archipelago, which forms the design of the world map.

The  Burj Al Arab  is one of the most luxurious hotels in Dubai. It was built on an artificial island, 321 meters high. The building imitates the sail of a boat, and today it is one of the main postcards of the city and the country.

The  Burj Khalifa , formerly known as  the Burj Dubai , is the tallest skyscraper in the world. It was inaugurated on January 4, 2010 and has a height of 828 meters.

Be sure to also visit the  Jebel Ali Port  in Dubai. Built in the 1970s, it is the largest artificial harbor in the world.

1 – Burj Al Arab

Considered one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, the Burj Al Arab is a fundamental part of the landscape of the new Dubai. The beautiful curve of the building designed by British architect Tom Wright seems to have suffered the action of the wind that arrives from the Persian Gulf and shapes Jumeira Beach. The place is among the most beautiful in the city and is an obligatory stop for a photo. Staying there can be for few, but appreciating the architecture of the Burj Al Arab is free. Take advantage of the public beach next to the hotel to enjoy the view.

2 – Burj Khalifa and At The Top Observation Deck

The Burj Khalifa reigns supreme over the Dubai skyline. Considered the tallest building in the world, the construction, with 828 meters and 162 floors, is one of the most spectacular and representative scenarios of modern Dubai. The Burj Khalifa is surrounded by a beautiful complex of buildings. In the center of all of them, a small artificial lake offers the Dubai Fontain show, the luminous fountains that dance to the rhythm of music every half hour. Those wishing to get to know the Burj Khalifa more closely can visit the At The Top Observation Deck. The observation deck occupies the 124th and 125th floors and offers spectacular views of Dubai. From the top, you can see the Persian Gulf, the desert and, of course, the fountain show.

3 – Al Fahidi – Historic District

In the historic quarter of Al Fahidi, you can see what the city was like at the beginning of the 20th century. Traditional constructions help to understand a little more about the way of life in the region before the discovery of oil. Walking through the sand-hued houses of Al Fahidi takes us straight back to the period when Dubai preserved the simple way of life.

4 – Dubai Desert

The Dubai Desert is part of the Arabian Desert and attracts travelers every day in search of new landscapes and experiences. Coming across the orange dunes at sunset is really a wonderful feeling. There are several ways to visit the desert and each of them holds a new surprise. The most common (and most crowded) tour for those who want to get to know the desert is the 4×4 Safari from Dubai.

5 – Dubai Creek

The canal that cuts through the city offers visitors the opportunity to experience a little of what Dubai was like in the days when the city served as a fishing warehouse in the region. A walk along the Creek is almost like a trip back in time. The most authentic way to travel along Dubai Creek is by boarding one of the small boats that travel between ports.

6 – Hop-on Hop-off bus

One of the most practical ways to get to know Dubai is on a Hop-on Hop-off style double-decker bus, in which tourists can hop on and off at the stops they want and as many times as they want within the time of the purchased ticket. The hop-on hop-off buses cover almost all the attractions and are very helpful for visitors who have little time in the city or don’t want to worry about scheduling.

7 – Dubai Museum

The museum is housed in one of the oldest buildings in the city, Al Fahidi Fort. Located in the historic district of Dubai, the fort dates back to 1787 and preserves part of the local culture. The interior of the museum is full of environments that simulate old habits and the history of Dubai.

8 – Dubai Opera

One of the newest buildings in Dubai is also among the most beautiful. In the midst of the modernity of the Downtown district, the Dubai Opera is enchanting due to the features of the Janus Rostock project and also to the shows it provides to the city. The opening of the venue was with a show by Plácido Domingo. Since then, she has hosted musicals such as Les Miserables, Cats and Mary Poppins.

9 – Aquaventure Waterpark

Part of the Atlantis de Palm hotel complex on Palm Jumeirah, Aquaventure Waterpark is a delicious refreshment for Dubai’s hot climate. The water park, located on the edge of the Arabian Gulf, offers several water slides, swimming pools and, of course, a private beach. Not bad for a hot day.

10 – Palm Jumeira

One of Dubai’s iconic man-made islands, the Palm Jumeirah is one of the city’s most famous images. Despite being the smallest of the three islands that make up Palms Island, Palm Jumeirah is the most visited for hosting the Atlantis The Palm hotel and also being the starting point for parachute jumps that so enchant tourists in the city.
