Caracal UAE 🇦🇪

The Caracal UAE is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) primary air superiority and multi-role fighter jet. The jet, which is developed, and manufactured by the UAE’s own Emirati Aerospace Industries (EAD), has been designed to be a formidable air combat asset for the UAE, providing extremely capable air-to-air and air-to-ground combat capabilities.

The Caracal UAE is a highly advanced, 4.5th generation multi-role combat aircraft. It was developed by EAD in collaboration with South African aerospace company Denel Dynamics and international partners such as the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. The jet was officially unveiled in October 2020 and is expected to enter service with the UAEs Air Force by 2025.

The Caracal UAE is a twin-engine, lightweight strike fighter aircraft, with a length of 16.7 meters, a wingspan of 11.2 meters, and a maximum takeoff weight of 21,500kg. It is powered by two General Electric F404 turbofan engines, each delivering up to 90kN of thrust. The jet is capable of achieving a maximum speed of Mach 1.5 and has an operational ceiling of 55,000 feet.

The Caracal UAE is equipped with a wide range of advanced avionics and sensors, including an AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar system, a digital data recorder, radar warning receivers, and a satellite communication system. The jet can also be equipped with air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, including AIM-9L/M infrared-guided and AIM-120C AMRAAM radar-guided air-to-air missiles. The jet is also equipped with air-to-ground missiles, such as the AGM-154C Joint Standoff Weapon, the AGM-88B High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile, and the AGM-65D Maverick.

The Caracal UAE is built for maneuverability, with a heavy-duty, low-frequency flight envelope, enabling the jet to perform high-g maneuvers with ease. The jet is also designed to be highly stealthy, with the use of special materials, and design techniques enabling it to reduce its radar signature.

The Caracal UAE’s primary mission is air superiority, though it is also capable of undertaking a variety of other missions, including air-to-ground combat, reconnaissance, and search & rescue. The jet’s advanced avionics and sensors, as well as its range of air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, enable it to provide the UAE with an extremely capable air combat asset.
